We visited our cabin last week. We went down Sunday night. My brother came and joined us on Monday afternoon. He took us to see the Acrobats of China. Here's our family waiting for the show. Baby Girl slept in the sling through the whole first half.
It was a great show. My brother commented before the show, "this show will give you a headache," refering to all the contortions we'd be seeing. I replied, "Or it will make you want to go workout," refering to all the strength it will take to do what we'll see. The favorite part for all of us, especially Tweety and me, were the Teiko drum segments. A couple times I looked over at Tweety to see him dancing in his chair like he was playing a drum.
After the show, we all went back to the cabin. Hubby, Tweety and my brother went swimming while I prepared supper. While they were gone, I caught this video of Baby Girl giggling. She is really ticklish.
As I was making supper, the cabin started heating up. It was almost 95 outside, hot and sticky. I closed the bedroom doors hoping to cool the kitchen/living, but it didn't work. I finally opened the front door because it was almost cooler outside. We suffered through supper, then went up to the clubhouse for a couple hours, hoping the place would cool down. We thought it was just because I had used the oven and stove. When we left, the temp registered 83.
Two hours later, it was even hotter and stickier in the cabin at 85. It was quite evident the air was not working. We called the security, it was now 10:00 pm. After having to convince him it was nothing we could fix, he called maintenance. They arrived around 10:30. By this point I was in my car with Baby Girl with the A/C on driving the loop of the campground. Hubby called that the air compressor had gone out on the A/C so they were moving us next door. At 11:30 my brother and Hubby had finally finished moving. They were so hot and sweaty. I felt awful for them. We were all so exhausted, the men even more so. We turned the A/C down to 70 and crashed in bed.
My brother enjoyed spending time with our kids. He quite often got to hold and pace with Baby Girl. I loved watching him with her. He's so natural with babies and kids. Here are some pics of him with his "Little Bit," as he calls her.
Tuesday morning, we enjoyed a late morning sleep, a light breakfast and then we packed up. We headed into Branson because Hubby wanted to eat at a restaurant called Chester's, a place owned by one of his co-workers. Very good food. Then our family headed back home while my brother headed off to work. We sure enjoyed spending such quality time with my brother.
