Tweety Bird, from the beginning, has been a wonderful big brother. I'm starting to have some "awwww...." moments. Let me share.
The other day at McDonalds, Tweety was playing in the tubes. I had finally coaxed Baby Girl to sleep and laid her in the carseat. After a little time, I wanted to go get a refill on my drink and buy a sundae to enjoy while Tweety played. (I had asked a friend to keep an eye on Baby Girl.) Tweety saw me leaving and came running over, "I want to go with you." I said ok then started out the door realizing Tweety didn't have his shoes on and his socks would get really dirty. So I stopped and said, "You know it would really mean a lot to me if you would stay here and keep an eye on Sissy. Would you do that?" I must have caught him in a great mood because he instantly replied, "Yes." We walked over to the table where she was and he sat down in the chair next to her. I left with a huge smile on my face as Big Brother sat in the chair gazing upon his sleeping sister. When I came back, he was still sitting there watching her, holding her hand and looking at her fingers like he likes to do. Awww...
I'm always hearing things from the back seat and around the house... "Awww look at your little fingers and little toes." "Mommy, Baby spit up." "Mommy, Baby is crying." "It's okay Baby, don't cry." "Mommy, Baby is sleeping." and the best one, said with such pride... "That is my baby sister!" Awww...
You know that look of pure love that new mommies and newlyweds get when they gaze upon their new love? I saw that on Tweety's face the other day while he was looking at Baby Girl. Awww...
Right now as I type, Baby Girl is laying on a blanket next to me. I tried putting a set of baby keys and Tweety's puppy dog rattle in each hand. She didn't hold them long. Not interested. Tweety went over and sat next to her on the floor. I could hear him saying, "Oh here, put this in your hand. Awww Baby. Put this in your hand." After a little, I looked down and he was laying on the floor next to her. Then he got up and sat in the chair at his new toy box desk to color. She started to coo again. He got up and saw, "Ok Baby. Here I come." Then he was back to trying to put the rattle in her hand. Awww...
BTW, Tuesday we hit the two month mark. Today is Thursday and she is 9 weeks.

What's even more fun is when baby starts loving big brother/sister. Luke's face lights up every time he sees Lydia. It's pretty sweet.
