Vacation Bible School

Tweety Bird was able to attend four Vacation Bible Schools this summer. I was so excited for him. I loved VBS as a kid. As much as he loves going to church and meeting new friends, I knew he would love VBS. I found four that accepted three year olds. Three of the churches did Crocodile Dock. By the third one, you'd hear him singing the songs around the house. I still hear them today. The fourth did Boomerang Express, a more Western themed VBS.

The last VBS was the week that my car died. He went Monday morning. Tuesday morning it was pouring down rain. The streets and parking lot were full of puddles and lakes. We got to the church, then took Tweety to his room. Baby Girl was wanting to nurse, so we went to the nursery. When she was done, we went back out in the rain to the car. It started but was having trouble. I barely could back it out of the parking spot. It died in the lane. I knew I couldn't just leave it there. I was trembling because it scared me the way it was acting. I saw a open spot in front of me, maybe 50 feet away. It started up and kind of coasted into the stall. I opened the door and landed in a foot of water. Good thing I had worn flip-flops that day. I waded through the puddle to the other side of my car and fished out Baby Girl. We went back into the church, pretty soaked by now. After calling a repair place, and waiting around for VBS to end, a friend kindly loaded up the three of us and took us home. BTW, it ended up being my fuel filter. As awful as it was driving, we thought it was the transmission and all kinds of problems, that it was time to get rid of the car. It was nice to find out it was a simple repair causing all that trouble.

Tweety did get to go back on Wednesday and for the concert Thursday night. As always, we sat on one side of the Worship Center, and Tweety ended up on the other side of the stage. It was quite a sight. There had to have been close to 400 kids on the stage. It was so awesome to see that many kids singing the praises of God. I could occasionally see Tweety where he was standing, but my mom and Hubby couldn't. Hubby fought the crowds of parents down front taking pictures to get a couple of Tweety. He didn't do any singing, there were too many distractions. Still, here are some pictures.
