We're at 38 weeks today. Not really a good day, hoped for better. I started having regular contractions last night. When I noticed them at 5:00 pm last night they were coming steadily at 10 minutes apart. By the time I went to bed at 11:00 pm, they were 8 minutes apart. That meant good progress. I wanted to try to sleep if it was the real thing, so we went to bed. I slept through the night with only a couple wakeups, probably more Braxton Hicks than contractions. By this morning, there were no contractions and I haven't had any all day.
Tweety Bird has been fighting an infection in his sinuses and eyes. After dealing with crusty eyes for the fourth or fifth day in a row, and even having some myself, I called his doctor. It needed to be looked at. She said since his "greens" have been about 10 days now and since he had "pink eye" it was worth treating. So we headed to the pharmacy for antibiotics and eye drops.
After that, we came home long enough to get a light lunch then off to my doctor appointment. Last week, I was still "hard" but dilated to 1. I was hoping for a good change today since I've had so many BHs and the contractions last night. Nope. Still dilated at 1, but now effaced 50%. Only that little bit of change? That hurt. I held my feelings until later this evening when all the sudden all the worries, fears and emotions of the last couple days and weeks hit me. Women know that we need crying spells to relieve stress. Even after five years of marriage, Hubby still doesn't understand. I guess at some point, this baby is going to come in a sudden rush instead of just little by little. Maybe that is a good thing. I'm just tired of being pregnant, not that I don't mind carrying this little bundle in me that one day soon I get to meet. I've just had enough. I'm done. Please pray for me to hold out to the end.
If we make it to week 39's appointment, Doctor has ordered another ultrasound to check on Baby's size. I really hope it comes before then. Praying and anxious...
