I've been avoiding for some time repairing the nursery cart in the Family Room. Knowing that it would soon see a great deal of use, I knew it was time to sew it. The pockets of the cart had been pulled off due to "some little boy I know" pulling the support sticks in and out over and over again.
Last night, Tweety and I were up late waiting for Hubby to come home. Tweety had caught a few naps here and there and was just as wired as I was at 10:30 pm. He was watching Blue's Clues. I didn't want to just sit on the couch and veg, I needed something to do. I thought, "I'm going to start working on the cart and see how far I can get."
Almost two hours later, Hubby came home as I finished the last few stitches. It wasn't as bad to fix as I thought. It was just hard to hold my arms up in the arm for such a tedious project. I had to rest every inch or so.
A great sense of accomplishment filled me as I looked at the repaired cart. Those stitches will hold, probably better than the factory sewing. I felt so proud of what I had done. The cart looks so different. It was torn apart for so long, I forgot how nice it looked when it was new.
I should have taken a picture before I started so you could also see the change. But here's the finished project. The two pockets on top are what I had to sew back together.
