Big Brother Practice

Today we are at 36 weeks of pregnancy. All the way through my pregnancy, my measurements and weight have been wonderful - right on track. All the sudden, this checkup I'm measuring two weeks ahead, at 38 weeks, and now Doctor is concerned about a big baby again. The last checkup I was a little ahead, but not much. What caused the big change?

So next Tuesday when I see her at 37 weeks, I will have an ultrasound to check on the size of the baby. Most likely if the baby is measuring big, Doctor will setup induction like she did with Tweety Bird. However with him, I had already started labor on my own. I've kind of had an intuition that Baby would arrive by 38 weeks. Now we need to hope and pray for it. BTW, I'm not dilating at all yet.

Here's a belly picture.

Tweety Bird is getting really excited about being a big brother. Last night he had a really teachable moment. He had found a lap pad in the nursery cart and brought it to me asking what it was. I explained that I could put it on the bed to keep Baby from wetting the bedding, or put it in my lap, or use it to change Baby's diaper. He seemed intrigued. He ran over and picked up his baby doll and wrapped it in the lap pad.

I asked him if he wanted to practice putting a diaper on his baby doll. Oh yes! So I grabbed a little size one diaper and we sat down on the floor together. After putting the diaper on, he grabbed a blanket. We swaddled baby doll and talked about how to hold it, supporting Baby's head. I asked him if he wanted to rock baby doll. Oh yes! So he climbed up in the rocking chair and sang the song to his baby doll. He is going to be such a great big brother. Here are some pics and video of him singing.
