I took Little One for a haircut yesterday. He had such beautiful hair, but it was turning into a mop. It hung below his ears and was down in his eyes. I hated to cut it because it was so beautiful, yet it was bushy. We recently bought a razor to do Hubby's and Little One's haircuts at home, but Little One was scared of it. So I took him to the beauty school for a cheap haircut.
The hairdresser was great with Little One, giving him some things to hold, making him laugh and talking to him. She asked how short I wanted it. Normally I go for the traditional boy cut. This time I said I wanted it short, very short. She stood there a moment flipping his hair. Then she said, "I can't figure out how short to cut it." I mentioned our razor situation, that he usually is afraid of it, but she could try it if she wanted to. She got out her razor and started buzzing away. I can now say I will NEVER ask for him to have a buzz cut again. IT'S GONE, it's all gone! He's not the same red-headed boy.
We took him to church later in the evening. Several people commented later that the childcare providers asked, "Who is that new boy?" When they realized it was Little One, they were shocked. Many said they liked his new "do," but I don't. It's gone! I can't get over it being gone!
So, here's the pictures...
It was funny to watch Little One get his haircut. When she would buzz around his ears, it tickled him. He would say, "It tickles, it tickles Mama." After his hair was cut and still several hours later, he would put his hand on his head and say, "hair, where'd it go?"
