It Finally Has Ended

It finally is Saturday night and my terribly long, exhausting week has come to an end. I basically worked non-stop each day this week (Mon-Sat) from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. I've been working three part-time jobs (if you want to count them as that) and this week they all collided.

Monday I substituted at New Covenant, did some rehearsals at MSU. Tuesday I spent a majority of the day at MSU in lessons and rehearsals. Wednesday thru Friday I substituted for orchestra at Pleasant View MS. I had a blast doing this, it definitely was the highlight of my week. I picked up a violin and played with some of the 5th grade classes I had to teach. They seemed to like that. It probably is highly unusual to have a substitute that can play. I had better participation when I played with them. I even taught them how to play a new song they needed to learn. That was thrilling! (I had to ask one of the 8th graders to show it to me.)

On top of all the busy day time schedules, I've been fitting in extra rehearsals at MSU because of juries being today (Sat). And each night, I've worked at McDs. Today was also a terribly long day. I ended up spending 3 1/2 hours on the road. I had to take Little One to Aurora for family there to watch him since I couldn't find a babysitter. I had to play for juries from noon to 4 pm, then went and picked up Little One. I managed to get to work right at 6 pm, and worked till 11 pm.

Only by God's grace have I made it through this week. I was not looking forward to all I had to do, but in the end it all worked out. I am extremely sore and exhausted though, to say the least.

As for a report on Little One... Growing stage or what? I brought home a double cheeseburger and McFlurry from work. When I got home, I found Little One sitting on the floor eating leftover movie popcorn. He saw my "gurger" in the bag and begged me for it. A few moments later, the whole thing was GONE! He ate the whole thing!! Oh my! Then he ate about half of the McFlurry because of the M&Ms.

I'm pleased to say that Little One's hair is growing rapidly and he is no longer BALD. His haircut looks good right now. AND... it's coming back in RED. I was afraid it would be blonde.

I think I'll take a long hot shower then head off to bed. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. My greatest pleasure would be time alone away from EVERYTHING and just nap, read, walk...anything, as long as I can relax! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Wow, you sure have been busy. I hope you don't have to keep up this pace for long. If you get a chance to take some time to yourself, take it!

I know you love music, so it would be hard to give up the fun subbing jobs, but remember your health and sanity! Say "no" if you need to get some rest!

(Okay, sermon over now!)
