I often hear the saying, "what a sweet boy!" This morning, that is the first thing I think of when Ben comes to mind. We took him to my parents' house last night for supper. I think he ate more than I did! After supper, Daniel, Ben & I went to see Shrek the Third and Mom & Dad went to Ocean's Thirteen (we had already seen OT and thought Ben would do better in Shrek). Ben was already tired and should have slept through the movie, but he was awake and watched the entire movie. Because he was so tired, he wanted to cuddle in my lap. For a majority of the movie, he was curled up in my lap in a somewhat-sleeping position with his head propped on my arm. My sweet boy.
When we got back to my parents' house after the movie, we went across the street to visit the neighbors. I got a quick tour of their beautifully remodeled home. As we came out of the house, her husband was setting up sprinklers in the yard. Ben went right to it. For a good hour, he played in the sprinkler and got so wet. Remind you, he was fully clothed and not in a swim diaper. He was having so much fun and would laugh so hard when it would spray him. He even allowed his face to get wet! Ben was so cold and soaked to the bone when we finally took him home. We stopped at the front door and stripped him down completely then wrapped him in a towel and took him inside. After dressing him in some warm clothes, Daniel laid him in his crib and he went right to sleep. My sweet boy!
When we got home at midnight, I asked Daniel to bring his toddler bed back upstairs. Daniel had converted the crib to a daybed and removed the toddler bed. I didn't feel he was ready for that because he still rolls so much in his sleep. For a good week, about every hour or two, Ben would roll out and land on the floor. The last couple nights, he would roll out the first time and then just sleep on the floor the rest of the night. Last night, after we setup the toddler bed, he crawled right in. My sweet boy slept the entire night and barely moved at all. This morning when the alarm went off (way too early), Ben heard it and woke up. I picked him up and carried him to my bed. We snuggled in under the covers then went to sleep. When I woke up to the alarm later, I discovered Ben had not only gotten down out of my bed, but had crawled back into the toddler bed, curled up under a blanket and was sound asleep. My sweet, sweet boy!!
