Goodbye Fat Pants

My recent need for surgery gave me a good reason to change my eating habits and lifestyle. Some other things, like monetary reasons, have changed my mindset as to eating at home. For one thing, I want to make sure that Benjamin is receiving a healthy diet to ensure he gets all the vitamins and minerals he needs as he is growing.

Having a baby left me with a huge amount of flab around my mid-section. Something that I've never figured out how to get rid of. I know I can loose a few pounds here and there, but how do you get rid of fat? It's a slow process, but I'm beginning to see results.

We have been solely eating at home for about a month now. I got to say goodbye to my fat pants this morning. What an exciting accomplishment!! I got into a pair of pants that I haven't been able to wear in a couple years that is only one size smaller. But hey, it means my healthier lifestyle is starting to pay off.

Though I haven't been to a gym in a couple years, I think just being active with Benjamin and our occasional evening constitutional are a great way to start.

Each meal time, I try to make sure we have a meat, bread, fruit and vegetable represented in our meals. Though meals don't have to be intricately prepared, the sampling of each food group even in smaller portions leaves you totally satisfied until the next meal. How is that so?

I also cut soda from my diet, though I occasionally drink a glass at the office in the mornings to wake me up. Now I only drink water, Kool-aid or milk.

I wonder if the doctor's office would let me come by just to weigh in. I'm curious how much, if any, weight I've lost.
