"Eat"

Ben surprised me last night with his first sign language of "eat." We were shopping at Carter's in Branson. He sat at the Lego table and played while I shopped. When it was time to leave, he did NOT want to go and started screaming. Trying to calm him down, I said, "Ben, we're going to eat. Don't you want to get something to eat?" He stopped his crying and did the eat sign. Totally shocked me! I have done it a few times before, but he's never really seemed interested in sign language.

Much later when we got home, while doing our nightly bedtime routine, I mentioned, "let's go brush our teeth." He did the sign again, but went right to the bathroom. I said, "no, we're going to brush our teeth." He did it again. Later when I couldn't get him to stay in bed, I noticed he was doing the "eat" sign again. I took him downstairs and gave him a graham cracker and milk and he devoured it in a few minutes. I couldn't help but say, "oh my, guess that's what he was wanting."

As for pictures... Here's Ben riding on the train ride outside Carter's.

Here's Ben in the "jumping thing" at Playtime Pizza. It was the first time he actually jumped in one of these. He's been in one before but was scared of it. I think because this one was just right for his size, and more open, he felt better about it.
