Plants
Well, I'll admit I didn't do so well with my plants. I did learn a few things though, which I will gladly share for those of you who are plant lovers. First of all, the rose bush was doing REALLY well until root rot set in. I could have fixed the problem, but by the time I got around to it, the plant was beyond help. To fix root rot, unpot the plant. Shake all the dirt away to where the roots are exposed. Make a thin bleach solution of one gallon water and 2 tbsp of clorox bleach. Dip the roots into the bleach water then plant into new soil. The root rot is a fungus and the bleach should kill it.
The tomato plants and pepper plant I had had to be thrown away too. They were attacked with small white insects that looked like fuzz. Again, it could have been treated, but they took over so quickly, the plants were destroyed. To get rid of the bugs, hose them down with water. Then dip cotton swabs in alcohol and swipe it up and down the plant to kill the bugs. I was going to fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and spray the plants down. Thought that might be a quicker way of going about this.
Hope this helps those of you who might run into problems. Hopefully you can take care of the problem before it kills your plants.
