Kids understand a whole lot more than we think they do. My Little Bird is proving that to me. We saw a white-bearded man outside the gas station on our walk this morning. I waited to see if she would ask if that was Santa. She did. But her remarks were beyond her years.
Hey was that Santa?
He doesn’t have his sled.
It’s not Christmas.
There’s no snow on the ground.
He won’t bring us presents because it’s not Christmas time.
He doesn't have his reindeer.
Are there wheels on his sled? – No that’s why he’s driving a truck, because there is no snow on the ground for the sled. - So he drives a truck when he can't use his sled?
So when it snows again and he can use his sled, Santa is going to bring us presents because it is Christmas again.
And she’s turning three next week. :)
