Funny Sayings

The last couple weeks of constant one-on-one with Mommy has allowed Little One to blossom in his speech. He is learning to count to ten and adding and subtracting already, in his own way of course. He can sing the alphabet song really well now and I catch him singing "Jesus Loves Me" amongst other songs all the time. Funny thing is, I've never had to teach Little One how to sing Jesus Loves Me. I've sung it to him since he was in-utero. When he was a baby, it was the one thing that calmed his fussiness almost immediately.

So I've titled this "Funny Sayings." Children repeat what they hear you say. Here are some things I've heard LO say:

"I want more Legos please." (We worked on this sentence one day when he was in the bathtub. The next time he very politely asked me and it surprised me. I said, "Wow, thank you for asking so politely." I headed to his toy box and I heard, "Thank you, Mom.")

"Good job, Mom." (If we do something with him or for him he says "good job" to us. That is so precious.)

"Mere Mom, I want to talk to you."

"What you doing?"

"B says bbbb, look Mom a B!" (He now points out letters as he finds them and is learning the phonics. B is his first to learn, wonder why? B says Bbbb for Ben...)

Fun story. We were hanging out at the mall with some friends. I was sitting in a wheelchair with Ben. I was left to sit while everyone else was shopping. My friend was inside Motherhood Maternity shopping. LO noticed the store name on the glass at the front of the store. We wheeled out to look at it. As we were talking about the letters, I sounded out the word "Maternity." I swiped my arm under the letters saying "Maternity, that means Mommy."

A little later we passed by the glass front again. Again, LO said, "B says bbb." So we stopped again and discussed the letters. Learning by repetition, you know. We no more talked about one letter and LO swiped his arm under "Maternity" and said "Mama!!"
