Today is Wednesday, Sept 10. We've now been out of our house one month. The fire was August 7. It has been a good month, full of hidden blessings. Many things we are grateful for as well as being very ready to go home.
My bone doctor has ordered another three weeks on crutches. He wants me to start applying pressure little by little to my leg. Since I'm still walking on it at times though, I'm planning to just keep using crutches for two more weeks as much as I can, then start applying more pressure little by little. I want my leg to have plenty of time to heal. The doctor mentioned there were signs of wear on my knee. I've noticed that my knee is tight and sometimes locks. I need to give my knee a break, that's partly why I want to keep using the crutches more.
I called the fire restoration company today for a quick update. He mentioned that they should finish in the garage by Thursday pm. Then our company will go and move everything inside to the garage, as well as bring home the stuff they have at the warehouse. The other company will then work inside to finish repairs. We're getting new carpet and linoleum downstairs and fresh paint. I hope they replace the carpet on the stairs too. It was just as dirty as the living room carpet.
I'm thinking we'll probably be able to start moving in by next weekend. We'll be on Daniel's time though, since I'm on crutches and can't help. It is a blessing that we are at the hotel right now, because I don't need to be doing the stairs, constantly up and down as we do when we're home.
I'm also craving to cook since I haven't in so long. I will probably end up baking up a boat-load of goodies when I get home. I miss this so much.
Thank you for your continued prayers and concerns. We have felt them and have been blessed.
