It was a big day for Baby Bird Emily today, Fri Feb 10. Saw her roll back to front tonight. Then after supper, she started laughing with me. I was making faces and laughing silly-like. I could see her practicing her face like mine and then she'd break into small giggles. It is so amazing to watch babies figure things out.
As for Little Bird, she had a fun day today. She is always talking about being a princess or about being a ballerina. She loves wearing "the pretty dress" if I ask her what she wants to wear. If I try to put pants on her, she will say, "no, I want to wear a pretty dress." This afternoon, she came prancing down the hall waving her sparkling wand around in the air. She danced into the living room and then moments later into kitchen laughing. She told me she had turned Baby Bird (asleep in the swing) into a bunny. Then she danced around and said, "I'm going to turn you into a duck." Playing along with her, I started quacking and flapped my "wings." It was worth it to hear her laugh so hard. :) And away she pranced down the hall.
Here's a picture of my trio from this evening. Left to right, Cassie (Little Bird) 2.5yo, Emily (Baby Bird) 16weeks, Benjamin (Tweety Bird) 6yo.
Tweety is always able to make his sisters smile.
This is our FREE entertainment from last night. The kids are always talking about going bowling. I have always thought about buying them one of those plastic bowling sets, but why when this worked so well. I started digging through my recycling to find a bunch of cans. They weren't sure why I was doing it and until I set them up. Fun was had by all. :)
These two were taken Jan 30. Little Bird fell asleep watching television while I was making lunch.
Holding her head up high!
These last two were taken on Jan 22. We've had some very dreary winter days in Southern Missouri. Only one little episode of the good-ole white stuff, but just rain and foggy days mostly for our winter. These kind of days really set in the winter blues. It is so nice to see the sun, even if it is only 35-40 degrees outside those days.
"Take our picture, Mommy!"
And I'll close with this beautiful picture. I used it to enter her in a cutest baby contest, but the votes didn't come through for us. Maybe next time. Her beautiful smile appeared the day she turned a month old. Here is that great smile from Baby Bird at 9weeks old.
