Hubby as Cook
I panic each time hubby calls to tell me that he is making up a concoction in the kitchen. Yikes! Tuesday night, I had been diligent to do a menu for the next week or so to make up my grocery list. I had picked recipes new to us to use up some pork chops and frozen hasbrowns. Thursday, when Hubby was home and I was out teaching, I got a call from him that he had cooked some pork chops, cut them up, put them in the crock pot and was adding some potatoes he had diced. He wanted to add some cream soups and wondered what else he should add. My first thought was oh no! but then I thought how strange it was that what he was putting together was almost EXACTLY what the recipe was I wanted to make. I told him to add some celery and the cream soups. As I neared the neighborhood that evening, I cringed at the thought of finding the mess he'd left and what was it we were going to be eating. I, of course, found a huge mess in the kitchen. But what I was not expecting was how AWESOME the soup was!!! I later asked him what all he put in it. Here's a majority of the grocery list of recipe items I had just bought... pork chops, potatoes, celery, Italian seasoning, 4 cans of cream soups (2 mushroom, 1 chicken, 1 celery). Even though I was sad that I'm going to have to buy those items again to make the recipes I was planning, I was IMPRESSED. That soup was sooooooo good!
