Bedtime woes
We introduced a toddler bed to Ben on Saturday. He enjoyed crawling on and off of it and would lay down on it. When it came to actually going to sleep...yeah right! He refused to even try. So, we decided to let him go to sleep with us in our bed and then I moved him to his new bed after he fell asleep. Ben is a wiggle-worm in his sleep. He is constantly changing positions. He fell out twice. The first time, I heard over the monitor... thump...Waaaa! The second time I woke from my sleep and felt I should check on him. There he was on the floor.
So then came Sunday night. He was so exhausted. He should have gone to sleep instantly, but fought sleeping in his bed for almost an hour. I even sat down on the floor next to his bed and read him several stories while he was laying down. After another few attempts, I even reluctantly gave him his pacifier. It did calm him down, but a few minutes later I heard him up and playing. After several more attempts and that look of desperation in his eyes, I picked him up and took him to our bed where he spent the whole night. This morning, when I got up at 6:00 I moved him to his bed.
Anyone have some suggestions? Will it eventually happen?
