Labor Day

How we spent our Labor Day holiday.

First, woke up at 4am. Left home at 5am fully loaded with clothes, food, kids, and dog headed to take Hubby to work. 5:30am dropped off. 6:00am at my parents house, tucking kids back into bed. 10:30am, waking up, breakfast, showered and dressed all four of us.

Left about 12:30pm for lunch. Got to Burger King to partake of their $1 smoothies and the BOGO sandwich coupons I had downloaded. There were about 20 people standing in the register area. I stood there about 15 mins and noticed no one was ordering, no one had moved, no orders put out. It was weird. All the employees were gathered around the food prep area, the manager was saying, "I need this. I need that." But no food was moving, not to drive-thru or to counter. So I said to my kids, "let's go play for a while, then I'll come back and order when it's calmer." I turned to go through the dining room with the kids and noticed that of all the tables of people, no one really that I could see had any food. They were all just sitting there. Got back to the indoor play area and it was closed for remodeling. We headed to the car.

Headed down the street to the mall, I decided to go to a place I haven't been in nearly 10 years even though it's probably one of my favorite places to eat. Wing Stop.It was definitely a splurge at $15 for 20 boneless wings, a basket of fries and one soda, though it served two meals. I fed the kids (who LOVED the food too), then had about half leftover for Hubby when we picked him up from work. Since Hubby was getting off in 45 minutes, we headed next door to Big Lots to roam around since it'd been about a year or so since I'd been there. Surprise! They'd doubled the size of the store by buying out the next part of the shopping mall.

After we picked up Hubby from work, we then went to "play" at the mall. We walked from Sears at one end to Old Navy at the other end and then all the way back again. Caught this great picture of the kids piled into the shopping cart.

Left there and headed back to my parents to pack up our belongings. On the way home, had a change of plans and decided to use the summer free bowling one more time. Baby Bird was really enjoying being down on the floor this time. She crawled around and inspected things. Then she'd stop and clap for Tweety and Little Bird as they'd bowl.

Tweety Bird had bowled three games mostly by himself, occasionally Little Bird had a turn. His three game series was 210, the first game being an 81, the second a 69, and the third 60. The first game was all by himself. Little Bird joined on the other two.

Holding Tweety's hand walking out the door, I asked him, "It's been a good day, huh?"

"Yep."

Left at 8:30pm to come home and straight to bed. That is except for two little girls that won't give in, even though they can play as much as they want TOMORROW. Go to bed girls, it's midnight!!! Mama wants to because 6:30am for the school bus will come way to quickly.
