Hello Third Trimester

It's third trimester already! Can it be?

Here are some pregnancy shots two weeks ago of me at 26 weeks. Thanks, friend Misti, for these beautiful pictures.

The girls' room is ready and waiting.

Little Bird is funny about feeling a baby in my tummy. If you listen, sometimes she'll talk about the baby in HER tummy, and she'll even ask you to feel it. I know she is too young to understand a baby growing in Mommy's tummy, but when Baby Emily is kicking and moving so clearly for us, it's hard to deny something is growing in there.

Big brother Tweety Bird is fully understanding the concept though. I still can't get over this change. Up to this point, my son has been telling everyone that "a baby is growing in Mommy's tummy." A couple days ago, we were sitting at the dinner table. In a very serious thought after a pause of silence, he looked up at me and said, "so you're pregnant, huh?" He talks to my tummy, asks to feel her, kisses her. It's sweet to me to see this love growing in him. He is so very fond of Baby Emily, I hope to see the same bond with our new one.

And last preparation - the baby registries have been setup. Not that we need a whole lot, but it is so much fun to do. It's that last baby prep that just really drives home the thought of a new addition. Even though I still have all of the stuff from Little Bird, the seasons are off in their clothing, Little Bird being summer, and Baby Emily being winter. I know some of the clothes we have will be usuable, but it's just fun to get new stuff for the new little one to have a voice of her own. I found some beautiful blankets and burp cloths that are on the registries. Pacifiers, bottles, bathing & diapering supplies, a mattress pad. These are all things that I thought we could use. If you're wondering, we are registered now at Toys R Us and Target. I'm hoping to get one setup at Tiny Tillia by Avon under my Mom, who also sells Avon but it's giving me some trouble since I'm also an Avon rep. It should be up and running within the next two days I hope, so just keep watching for it.

Can I fully say we are ready for her arrival? I think the kids and I are. I pray for Daniel because like most men dealing with pregnancy, he's not attaching to her, nor does he show interest in a new baby entering our lives. Yet, I know when we hold her in our arms, she will instantly wrap her little fingers around our hearts. Anxiously awaiting your arrival, Emily Rose. We wait to welcome you!
