Weight Loss

Some of you have heard I've been dieting. Yesterday, 8/14, I passed into the 250's at 259.8. I was so excited. That makes 22 pounds lost! When I had my six week post-pardon check after Little Bird, I weighed in at 254. That was 12 months ago. When we got married, I was at 240. That was six years ago. Here are some snip-its I want to share from my diet journal.

Night of day 25, 8/15

Okay, so I'm battling will power these days. It didn't help yesterday for my depression. Funny, I contemplated giving in. I knew it would be bad, but... I gave in. I was mad, sad, teary-eyed, tired, the whole gammit. It was almost in rebellion to all the bad events I'd been having lately, and hubby not being home wasn't helping. I didn't "pig out" but I definitely gave in. After arguing with hubby some more at 11 pm when he finally got home after being gone three days, I spilled all. Poor guy, I chewed him out then bawled on his shoulder.

Today I woke up to face the scale with weary eyes. We had some really strong storms come through about 4 am, and I was up at that point. Going back to sleep was not going to happen. I knew the scale would tip and I would gain. After dealing with my .8 gain, I mustered the will power to get over yesterday's weakness and have a diet-healthy day. Tonight, I'm scared about tomorrow morning's weight because it reads 263. I'm scared about it not going down in the morning. I really want to see 250 by Saturday. I think I'm going to do some extra swimming laps this week and see if that helps the loss go faster. If anything it'll help my moodiness go away.

So this morning I was looking for clothes for church. I wanted to wear pants, but I wasn't sure which pair since I am starting to shrink out of my usual clothes. I put on some black "lounge" pants (because I mostly wear them around the house) and they actually looked really good on me. Before, I wouldn't have worn them out of the house even because they were clingy and showed my curves too boldly. However, I wasn't satisfied with shirts to go with it. I pulled out some of the smaller clothes my friend gave me "to shrink into." I found an XL blouse that now fits perfectly. Then I started rummaging through the pants in my dresser. I pulled out a pair of khaki pants I haven't worn in probably 4-5 years. Not only did they slide on with ease, but they were even just a tad loose on me!! What an exciting feeling! It was so fun telling people that I hadn't worn them in so long. I definitely could see how I've slimmed after getting those on this morning. "You look mawvelous, darlin'..." ;)

Oh and a couple nights ago, I met my parents & grandpa for ice cream at McDs...no I didn't eat ice cream. My kids did. I ate a side salad. I was wearing one of my favorite skirts. My mom & grandpa and I were standing there talking and I said, "you gotta see this." I pulled out the waist band a good 5" away from me. It's hard to keep that skirt up now. A few minutes later, I reached over and started to hug my grandpa and he said, "hey, skinny girl."
