Free time

I mentioned in my long blog a few moments ago that I'm enjoying my new free time. I went with a friend, Amy, to the local Farmer's Market this morning. I picked up some homemade cinnamon rolls, fresh-grown radishes for my dad, and also a tomato plant. Amy is working on her first garden this spring and really enjoying it. She was really encouraging this morning that I would have some great tomatoes this spring, and I replied, "with Amy's help." So here's a picture of the tree. I'm going to get it potted this weekend and I'll keep you posted on its progress. By the way, the book I picked up at the library was a novel called, Mozart's Sister. It's a fiction narrative about Nannerl. I thought that was a rather auspicious beginning to my reading. Okay, now I need some advice. Do you see the rose in the picture above? This is my third attempt at having a small plant on my window sill and it too is dying off. Help! I love roses and want to save this one. Is it supposed to be planted? Any watering recommendations? I've been giving it a very little bit of water each morning and it is in somewhat direct light all day since that window faces due west. It should be doing well, but it's not. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I had to look up Nannerl to discover he is Mozart's father.

I think your tomato plant will do great, and if it doesn't, well, there's always next year. That is my gardening motto!

Nannerl is not the father. Leopold Mozart was the father to Ludwig & Nannerl. Nannerl is a nickname. Her real name was Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia Mozart.
